The bodies of two pilots were repatriated to Canada, and the CEO apologized for not using French

A collision between an airplane and a fire truck recently occurred at New York LaGuardia Airport, resulting in the tragic deaths of two Air Canada pilots. The body of 24-year-old First Officer Mackenzie Gunther has been transported to Ottawa, while 30-year-old Captain Antoine Forest was sent back to Montreal. The accident injured about 40 people in total, most of whom have now been discharged. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Air Canada community, with the pilots' association calling for mutual support among colleagues. Meanwhile, Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau faced public criticism for initially releasing a condolence statement only in English and has publicly apologized for not using French. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
