Breaks historical lows! Canada's 18th and the U.S.'s 24th happiness rankings both decline

The latest "World Happiness Report" has been released, with both Canada and the United States seeing a decline in rankings: Canada fell to 18th place, a new low in 20 years, while the U.S. dropped even further to 24th, also marking a historical low. Ten years ago, Canada was firmly in the global top five, but now it has become one of the "countries with the largest decline." The report shows that Canada's problems are not economic, but lie in interpersonal relationships and life experiences—social support is only ranked 35th, and freedom of life choices ranks 68th, with about 18% of people feeling dissatisfied with their life choices.

The situation in the U.S. is similar, with more and more young people accustomed to eating alone, ranking communal meals only 69th; Canada is also not ideal, ranking 53rd. The study points out that these "seemingly small matters" directly affect happiness.

The report also mentions that Canadian young people feel the most stress, with high housing prices and strong uncertainty causing many to feel that "hard work may not change their fate." Overall, happiness in North America is continuously declining.
